Messages From An Ancient Era Quest Walkthrough And Hidden Secrets

The Messages From An Ancient Era quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is one of the most intriguing lore-heavy side adventures in Hyrule. Initiated at Kakariko Village by speaking with Worthy, this quest challenges adventurers to decipher ancient Zonai inscriptions scattered across floating star-shaped islands in the sky. Completing this voyage requires keen navigation, clever stamina management, and precise camera photography to capture all twelve hidden tablets.

Starting the Quest and Understanding the Objective

To begin the quest, travel to Kakariko Village and locate the Zonai Survey Team head, Worthy, near the central stone tablet. After examining the fallen stone slab, he asks Link to explore the sky realm and photograph twelve similar star-shaped sky islands. Each tablet contains ancient history translated by Worten once returned to the village, shedding light on Hyrule's forgotten royal lineage.

Navigating the Sky Islands Efficiently

Reaching these distant star-shaped islands requires leveraging Skyview Towers, Zonai devices, and upgraded battery capacity. Using flying contraptions like the Fan Flyer or launching from high points with Tulin's wind power will make traversing the sky significantly easier. Since these islands are often located at extreme altitudes, stocking up on stamina-replenishing meals is highly recommended before setting out.

Locating and Photographing the Twelve Tablets

The twelve stone tablets are spread across various sky archipelagos, ranging from the Hebra Sky to the Lanayru Sky region. Upon reaching a star-shaped island, step onto the central platform where the tablet rests and use Link's Purah Pad camera to snap a clear picture. Ensure the red exclamation mark appears above the frame to confirm the photo is valid for Worten's research log.

Hidden Secrets and Quest Rewards

While the primary task involves taking photographs, several of these islands have trick mechanics where the stone slab plummets down to the surface upon arrival. You can follow the tablet as it falls to the ground or use the Recall ability to stay aloft while taking the photo. Returning each completed picture to Worten rewards Link with 100 Rupees per tablet, culminating in a special Zonai Survey Team Fabric for Paraglider customization upon delivering all twelve.
